Well, I've been browsing around Amazon.com, and am looking for an anime to maybe buy. I'd like something that doesn't require a lot of forknowledge (like if its a movie based off a TV series.... I don't want to have to buy the series to understand the movie.)
I'm not very experienced with anime, though. I've always had crappy TV, and even the cable I had in college didn't have too much to do with anime. The only movie I've seen is Princess Mononoke. The only shows I've ever watched are Sailor Moon and Inu Yasha, (Beyblades, Yugioh, and the Dragon Ball shows were available, but they're a little young for me.) Sailor Moon is what got me interrested in anime when I saw it in grade 6. I'm not really into InuYasha anymore, its just boring.
So that's my history with anime, and basically what I'm asking is if anyone here can recommend some good anime movies (or shows) that I might buy. I don't want something childish. Mature (but not hentai) I like fantasy, and maybe Sci Fi. And nicely drawn animation. (example of what I think is sucky art animation: Dragon Ball style. I just can't stand it!)
Some anime's I've considered are Cowboy Beebop, Ah My Goddess (movie and TV show), and Perfect Blue.
So, any recommendations?
I just ordered Nausicae (sp?) and the Valley of the Wind. It should be here on Tuesday! ^__^
